What actions are punishable by law and how should they be penalized? In Germany, the special section of criminal law (Strafrecht – Besonderer Teil) deals with these questions. What, for example, should the penalty be for bodily injury, or for an illegal street race? The Open Access textbook "Strafrecht – Besonderer Teil" covers the special section of criminal law relevant for legal training. It is written in a comprehensible and exam-oriented manner and is aimed at both beginners as well as candidates preparing for their exams. All chapters of the book were peer-reviewed before publication.

The two volumes of the book focus on offences against persons and the general public (Part 1), and property and property-related offences as well as related subsequent offences (Part 2). A total of 26 authors were involved in the book. Simon Pschorr, a public prosecutor from Konstanz, contributed four chapters on traffic law during his time as a lecturer in the Department of Law at the University of Konstanz.

Part 1 of the book, which deals with offences against persons and the general public, is available free of charge on the OPEN REWI website.

Part 2 of the book, which deals with property and property-related offences as well as related subsequent offences, is also available free of charge on the OPEN REWI website.
