Learning science through exit games

Do you want to learn about natural sciences in a playful way and in a real laboratory atmosphere? The chemistry lab for school students ("Schülerlabor") provides educational exit games that allow just that. They are available for free to school students in grades four through thirteen.

The educational exit games include topics like "the mysterious plastic", "Dr. Quack's amazing capsules", and "the puzzling death of corals", and they are offered for free by the "Schülerlabor" from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Konstanz. The aim is to teach science in a fun way – in a real-life laboratory at the university.

The concept is simple: Players are given a fictitious mission that they complete as they solve different puzzles and conduct various experiments. The level of difficulty can be customized to fit the age of the respective players, and the games mainly cover topics from the field of chemistry. However, there are also games involving the subjects of biology and mathematics as well as the topic of sustainability.

Groups of up to 20 school students can take part in the free exit games – whether they are from an advanced chemistry course, a project group, or on a class trip to Konstanz, for example. Teachers can contact the "Schülerlabor" directly for further information.

Teachers can use the online form to arrange a date to visit the "Schülerlabor". An overview of educational exit games is available on the "Schülerlabor" website.
